Эффект, возникающий после растрирования при низкой разрешающей способности устройства вывода (экрана дисплея или печатающего устройства) или самого изображения. При этом вместо плавных переходов одних объектов в другие весь рисунок делится на сетку с ячейками прямоугольной формы, каждая из которых определяет минимальный элемент изображения.
